It all started in 1949, in Rochester, New York. A chemist developed a plastic polyethylene bottle that did not interact with the contents, and that was designed specifically for clinical laboratories. Nalgene was born. In the 1970s, Nalgene launched a line of outdoor products based on its medical and pharmaceutical experience.
